The Best Part of My Day…

March 23, 2011 By Gail 28 Comments

A friend sent me a thank you note for some cookies I had baked during a recent low spot in her life. (Really! Who doesn’t feel better with a plate of warm chocolate chip cookies in hand?) I was taken by the quote on the front of the card, as it inspired my day. Here it is:
“I want to be more respectful of love itself, and not just the people it travels through. I want to embrace its peace, applaud its creativity and thank its tenderness. I want to admire the bravery of Love’s open and willing hand; acknowledge the strength, the adversity, the up off of its knees fortitude; and the gentleness of its embrace. When I can see love’s infinite colors-holding, accepting-how much easier it well be to see the beauty in all, possibly even in me.” -Jodi Hills
That last line…even in me…hit hard. My wish for all women is the ability to see their own unique love and beauty–every day.

A Message From Gail

Through my blog and website, I hope to share beauty, laughter, inspiration, aging & midlife lessons and advice on dealing with menopause. I will also devote time to integrative health and healing tips and news. I want feedback and questions because, while we may be sharing the journey, every woman has her own experience and her own story.

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is wonderful blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.

All the women appeared to be as a consequence happy to read through all of them and already have unquestionably been making the most of these things. Thanks for really being so thoughtful and then for going for variety of exceptional subject areas most people are really desperate to discover. My honest regret for not expressing appreciation to you earlier.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
